Claymation Reflection Essay

This quarters big project was making a claymation about an explorer. The person that I made my claymation with was my best friend, and partner in crime, Phalen Cochran. We did our claymation on Amerigo Vespucci. Phalen and I worked really well together. I think that is mostly because we are besties 'till the end.

I can't really say I have a favorite part of making the claymation. But if I had to choose one it would be making the props. I had a lot of fun doing this because I like making things out of clay. Another reason why I enjoyed this part of the project was because I got to talk and mess around with my friends much to Mr. B's disapproval. Despite all of the camaraderie we rarely got scolded. If we ever got in trouble for anything it was for talking too much. Except for once, when Camden and Cameron were having a clay fight.That was funny. Until they got in trouble. Then it was REALLY funny. Making our claymation wasn't all fun and games though. There were also some difficult parts.

The hardest part of the project for me, was making up all of the dialog and narration. This is because had some trouble not repeating the information through out the entire project. We had some trouble with recording our our dialog and narration as well. The Computer annex was never quiet and so when we would listen to our voice recordings you could hear everyone in the backround. We tried to hide all of that noise with backround music but Phalen and I aren't very technically inclined. So randomly you hear someone scream something weird. Phalen and I weren't terribly happy with the outcome of the audio portion of our project. Based on what everyone elses sounds like, ours could have been a lot better. I think granted a little bit more time and a little bit more quiet it might have sounded better. But then again, other people made theirs sound good with out those things.

The most important thing that I have learned through out this project is that team work and determination are key. In the beginning of production, Phalen and I found it hard to focus and stay on track with all of our friends around us. It really hit us that we needed to hustle and ignore all of the distractions when one of our scenes was turned in late. After that, each scene got better and better as we learned how to manage our time. Team work played a very important role as well because without it our project would be in shambles. Phalen and I worked very well together when it came to making sure we were both doing the same amount of work and giving our all. Never once through out this whole project did I feel that I was doing more work than Phalen, or vice versa. On days that I just wasn't in the mood to work and only wanted to socialize, Phalen was there to remind me that we needed to move along. I think I also learned a bit on time management. We set goals of when we would get all our props made, when we would get audio done and when we would shoot. That helped immensely.

Over all I really liked doing this project. It involved all of my favorite things, Phalen, playing with clay and socializing. I even enjoyed it when Phalen and I couldn't work the stinkin' computer, or when we had to record our audio. I sucked in a bunch of knowledge about computers, team work and time management as well.

Chay Chay

what to say, what to say. Rachel Marie Sawyers. I basically love this girl to death. We love to fight, physically and verbally =P But thats ok. I love slepping out in the woods with her waiting for her brother to come eat us, I love eating milk and cookies on her roof, I love the way she laughs, like a goose with her tongue out, I love how well she plays with my little brother, I love quadding with her and almost running over her mom, I love sledding with her until our feet fall off, I love having snowball fights with her and falling through the dock into freezing water, I love doing her homework, I love finding her choclate milk cup under my bed a month after she left, I love screaming like little boys with her watching scarey movies, I love playing hide and seek with her at the primary school, I love going ona mad search for Kaia's kitty and finding it in the microwave, I love telling her little sister that tap water has 5 thousand calories, I love eating all day until we explode, I love going to her house and finding all my socks from the past 4 years, I love gong out to see my horse and almost getting stampeeded, well not so much, I love being best friends with her mom, I love planning ou little siblings weeding (yes we will soon be inlaws), I love making p songs while delirious in the rain, I love all the amazing memories we have together because with out them we would be just some ordinary friends, but me and Chay Chay are the farthest thing from ordinary, we're besties 'till the end.

VIPER! CROUCHING TIGER! HIDDEN DRAGON! HAPPY HIPPO! These are a couple phrases we hear all too often at camp. I would defnitely say I love this kiddie. She is the first person to ever make me cry happy tears. She is the first person I ever slept in a tent with. She is the first person I would go to when im sad. This lady just gets me, inside and out. Ive known her since argile socks were all the rage and boys still had cooties. Shes THE funniest thing in the world. There have been times when she has made me laugh so hard I peed my pants. We wont talk about that though =P You might as well call us old and married cuz thats how fight=) forever and ever VIIper + CROUCHING TIGER

Cheese and Crackers

Cheese and cracker is one of my all time favorite foods. I mean, who doesn't like cheese and crackers? Its so delicious! Its the perfect blend of crunchy and chewy. Some of my favorite cheeses are, of course, sharp cheddar, havarti, any type of goat, and Babybell Laughing cow cheese (the red one only). My all time favorite cracker is Keebler elf Club crackers. Another good cheese cracker is Ritz. It can be quite salty though so it has to be paired with a more mild cheese such as havarti. I almost for got about colby jack cheese! That stuff is the bomb. Its so swirly and pretty. I love it when you at a party and theres a HUGE platter of cheese and crackers! I could go my whole life and only eat cheese and crackers. No joke. I could easily live off of it, I practically do already. My dog also seems to enjoy cheese and crackers.=) One time my brother tried to feed his goldfish cheese and it died. That was really bad.... I also like to eat cheese all by its self. But after awhile the cheese gets lonely and I have to eat some crackers too. Crackers are good by them selves as well. But if you eat too many without cheese your mouth gets all dried up because of the salt. So thats basicly why cheese and crackers are ment to be together. Forever. They are the perfect couple. A dynamic duo. Like 2 pees in a pod. Like peanut butter and jelly. Like me and my horse. We just belong together. Crackers without cheese is like me without Lillanna =)Like me with out Angie. Like macaroni with out cheese. Like a nerd without braces. like the moon with out stars. It just doesn't work. It never will. They belong together forever.

My jam packed week end!

Holey moley guacamoley! My weekend is going to be crazy! First on Thursday I'm going to go watch the volley ball game at the middle school. Then that night I'm going to Angie's house for her birthday party and sleepover. Friday morning I'm going to go home for like an hour then get ready and go to Lennox's birthday party sleepover. For Lennox's birthday we're going to the home coming football game. That will be mega fun! At 10pm I'm leaving the football game to go to a young life event in Alderwood and Mount Lake Terrace. Also coming is possibly Hayley, Stephanie, Norah, Tyler and my best friend Angie. While over there we will be swimming, roller blading, eating and listening to people speak about different biblical subjects. Its going to be way to much fun for me to handle!!! We wont be getting back home until 8 in the morning! That means one whole night AND morning of crazy outrageous uncensored FUN!!!! Then Saturday I'm going to come home and sleep until 4 in the after noon. After i wake up I'm probably going to go see my horse and muck the stalls. That wont be too much fun ( mucking the stalls that is). Sunday I'm probably going to go and ride my horse in the arena and trials all day and come home sweaty and tired. WOW. Thats way too much for me to handle! And now i just found out that I have yet another birthday party sleep over on Saturday!!!!!!!

My Life Graph

The best thing that has happened in my life so far would have to be moving to Hawaii. It was ALWAYS warm there, even when it rained. I went to the beach almost everyday and had the best tan EVER! Yes you heard me, Scarlet Inches was tan! I went surfing every weekend too! That was just about the best part, learning to surf. It was so fun! And I got really buff and balanced to! It takes so much arm strength to get on a wave! One time when I was out surfing there was sea turtles all around me! It was kinda scarey though because they are so monstrously huge! One of the down sides to surfing is when you get on a really big wave and wipe out. Sometimes there will be a progression of 2 or 3 waves and it will be really hard to resurface because the waves keep pounding you back down and you have a surf board strapped to your leg, but most of the time it floats back up to the top and takes you with it. Sometimes a wave will rip your board away and drag you with it under water and through waves. Thats scarey. Another downside to surfing is that if you forget to wear board shorts you get a rash from the board wax on your legs and inside of your arms. You get it on your legs from when your pulling yourself up and they drag on the wax. You get it on your arms from when your paddeling. After a while i became almost immune to it. It really sucks when you break your board to because let me tell you, they arent cheap. Most people break their boards when surfing in rough waters with crazy high waves. It always made me sad to see a guy walk out of the water with half his board still attached to his ankle and they other half abducted by the waves.

Howsay!

His name is Sailor A.K.A. Howsay,(not horsey), I love him to death. I swear hes a dog but nobody believes me! He follows me around like a dog and sometimes i think i hear him bark =P I also believes he climbs trees. No joke. Everytime i go get him out of the pasture hes COVERED in sap. So im concluding that he does in fact climb trees. He also looks just like me. Hes completely white with some freckles and a bleach blonde mane. When you put my hair to his mane you cant tell the difference to save you life.

Angie!

Angie is my other bestest friend. She is the most blonde person you will ever meet! even more blonde then me(in the case of smarts)! I can tell her anything and everything about nothing =P When we get together you better watch out cuz were trouble! We will be taking over the world in the near future.Im not even kidding you. I love eating otter pizzles and watchingspy kids over the phone with her and the wild crazy adventures that we forgo out in the ocean. To her its always 3 in the morning and 2 million degrees outside. Spandex king, Thumb Thumb, Ange, I heart you forever and ever.

Taylor!

Taylor is like my bestest friend EVER! Shes been my friend since the beginning of time. I can go to her about anything. Yeah I pretty much love her. Shes Taytay, my tatertot, my Tilly, but most of all my best friend.

Whats on my mind

So im guessing you guys were all at the assembly today. Ya know the bullying one? It really made me think about how the little things that you might think are a joke can effect people. And it made me feel bad because i know that in the past ive been the bully.

I went fishing today. It wasnt very fun though. There was fish jumping every where but apparently they werent hungry because they werent even thinking about biting my line. I did catch a little tiny bull head though but i had to throw him back because he was too small.
Next Subject: Ugh. Today on the bus john thompson was sitting behind me and he said that he was going to puke the whole time. But he didnt. If he would have puked i probably would have freaked out and proceeded to puke myself. That would have been even worse and made me even more mad.

The many things to do with bingo dobbers

Just in case you didn't know, I play bingo. Yes, bingo. Every wednesday at the senior center with the old folks and my friend Stephanie. One time Stephanie won three times in a row and recieved a prize of $75. And on that same night i won too! The old people get really mad though when the younger people win. Another thing that my friends and I do with bingo dobbers is put them all over our bodies. It looks completely obscene, but its all for the entertainment. An example of it is my display picture on Moodle. In the picture is my friend Angie and I. The same night that that picture was taken Angie and I play "Hide The Pancake" where you decorate you panckaes with bingo dobbers (again, for entertainment) and hide them. The other person has to find all of the pancakes you marked after the other person hides them. Who ever finds them all first wins and gets to eat all of the pancakes if they are still edible. Something else that i have done with bingo dobbers is create art. This one picture that i made is really simple. I took a blue bingo dobber and colored my foot with it then made a print of it on a oiece of paper. Then i did the same thing with my hand and a hot pink bingo dobber. Another pictue that i have is one that my best friend Angie made me. It says "Spaghetti Girl is my best friend". I made one for her too, and it says "Thumb Thumb is my best friend". We both have them hanging on our walls. Another thing that i have done with bingo dobbers is have bingo dobber fights. This one time Stephanie and I were at Bingo and i hit her in the face with an open one and left a big purple mark in the middle of her forhead that wouldn't come off. Then she hit me in the face with one. and so on and so on. But then we got yelled at by the guy that calls out the bingo numbers and a couple of aold ladies so we had to stop. The next day at school we both had dots all over our faces. I guess its because the old ladies find it fun but they make little cozies for all of their bingo dobbers. They get pretty elaborate with it too. They have lace and ruffles and some of them are even embroidered with their names. There is the one woman at bingo that made one completely out of duct tape. Another person made a bingo dobber cozy that would hold 20 bingo dobbers!!! So there it is folks, all of the things to do with bingo dobbers. *Scarlet
